If you’re looking for a great camping area where you are in the heart of nature, Great Smoky Mountains National Park has a variety of excellent campgrounds. All campgrounds are located on a mountain river; therefore, you will enjoy cool mornings and evenings. There are also spots for tent camping, spots for campers, and some for RVs.
Camping reservations inside the National Park
Campsites at Cades Cove, Cataloochee, Cosby, Elkmont, and Smokemont may be reserved online www.recreation.gov or by phone at (877) 444-6777. All other campgrounds are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Campground Concessions
The Cades Cove Campground Store and bicycle rental opens April 1st. From this point, you can ride a bicycle on the 11-mile Cades Cove Loop Road. This is a one-way road that leads you through some of the most scenic areas in America. The store provides snack foods with several hot food items. Wood concessions are available at Elkmont, Smokemont, Cades Cove, and Balsam Mountain.

Campgrounds in nearby towns offer tent camping, camper areas, and RV areas. In addition, some campgrounds even have tiny cabins and others have treehouses. Most campgrounds have swimming pools and special outdoor activities. Others have live entertainment and even a chili cookoff!
